Nextech and Code.org partner with the award-winning Project GUTS (Growing Up Thinking Scientifically) to deliver a middle school science program consisting of four instructional modules and professional development for the introduction of computer science concepts into the science classrooms within the context of modeling and simulation.  Program goals are two-fold: 1) situate CS practices and concepts within the context of life, physical, and early sciences and 2) prepare students to pursue formal year-long courses in CS during high school.  Check out more information here: https://code.org/curriculum/science

To participate, teachers are asked to implement the flexible modules into their classroom in the 2017-18 school year (10 – 24 hours) and commit to three days of Professional Development in Indianapolis, June 28 – 30th.  An hourly stipend for the PD, breakfast and lunch during the training, and PGP points.
